It’s been awhile since I made macarons, so this weekend I decided to revisit them. They are also one of the most challenging things I’ve had to bake, so I tend to make them for special occasions now. I was also inspired by a book I picked up this weekend- it has 30 recipes of macarons!
Picking the flavors was easy- I went with my current favorite dessert choices- coffee and lemon. The coffee macarons were filled with a dark chocolate ganache, while the lemon was filled with a tangy lemon buttercream. I purposely make these bite-size in order to feel less guilty if I eat two or three of them in one sitting.

Those coffee macarons look scrumptious! I sooo want one – even though macaroons are too sweet for me. LOL

I ended up filling them with too much ganache, so they did taste super sweet. Next time I’ll use less =)
